Meeting Challenge of Opening Safely

As well as the Arts Trail Map, the website will feature online listings with information about the venues on the Arts Trail. The website will also carry an Artist Directory of artists living and working on Mull, Iona and the offshore islands; a listing of Arts Events, and pages with further highlights of the vibrant cultural life of the islands.

The Arts Trail Map and Venue Listings will include the following types of venue which allow locals and visitors to view and/or buy the arts and crafts created by people living on the islands:

  • Gallery
  • Studio/workshop
  • Arts & Craft Retail
  • Café with Gallery
  • Performance Space
  • Public Art Space

Soon, individual artists and collectives (arts groups without a venue) on the islands will also receive an email inviting them to be included in the online Artist Directory. This will promote the work of artists living and working on the islands and include the following contemporary arts:

  • Visual Arts & Crafts (painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, woodwork, textiles, architecture, photography, traditional crafts, jewellery)
  • Literature (poetry, creative writing, publishing)
  • Performance Art (theatre, film, music, dance, storytelling, broadcasting)
  • Public Art (contemporary art that is free to visit in the public realm)

Arts venues open to the public which would like to be on the Arts Trail and individual artists who would like to be included in the online Artist Directory, who have not been contacted, please email
