If you are thinking about joining Visit Mull and Iona (VMI) – come along to our Members Gathering on October 28th 11am at the Isle of Mull Hotel – we would be very pleased to see you! You can chat to our Marketing Officer, Joe McFadden about the membership benefits from joining – and why not explore the rest of this website for a flavour on how VMI promotes your business.
This is a great opportunity to network with our members and join in the discussion on the way forward for VMI. As the official Destination Marketing Organisation (DMO) for Mull and Iona we have a voice when in touch with external agencies. In June VMI joined forces with the Mull and Iona Ferry Committee and the other organisations on the islands to provide a business survey which clearly showed the economic damage the ferry disruption caused to our tourism sector. MIFC have been very proactive in following this up with the Scottish Government while VMI are surveying members to track the ongoing damage the disruption caused. This provides clear evidence that Mull and Iona need additional resources to offset the negativity caused by the ferry disruption.
DMO status also means we can apply for grants and run campaigns which benefit the visitor economy as a whole, focusing on attractive consumer markets through our dedicated www.wildisles.co.uk and www.mullandiona.art websites. The arts community on the island really came together for the first Open Studios event over the Easter Weekend 2023 and we are now looking at ways for this to run as an annual event.
If you are thinking of coming along, email joe@visitmullandiona.co.uk to find out more details and book your place, you would be very welcome.
